(M.O. Picture By Amy Chapman)
Today, the spotlight is on other Cincinnati talents. M.T. Bag is the shit, but when it comes to the solo tip, M.O. has it on lock. I've known this character for about three years now. I met him in 2006, at his cousin's birthday party. I was a tad skep' when I first heard his debut, "The Warm Up". Don't get me wrong, it was GOOD music, but the content made me question his abilities. Shortly after hearing The M.O. Hour, my opinion changed for the better. Let's get into his sophomore release....
PUSHIN'-- This track's beat goes down as the best beat on the album in my opinion. The producer, Seth Boogie, plays a short riff of guitar in the beginning and the album kicks off. M.O. kicks some real words and I feel it as much as I did the intro to his debut.
HIGH CLASS--If you're not M.O. savvy, a lyric from this song is on our page. Over there, above the calendar. "M.O., can my friends come to your shows?" I rather enjoy the feel of this song. The chorus is really good and the smack talk at the end is a nice touch. This track was originally the intro, but obviously that changed.
THE M.O. HOUR--The title track is probably his most popular song thus far. In stereo, I skip right over this song. I've seen it performed twice, and prefer to hear it that way. You gotta see the crowd at Baba's when the chorus comes on. Every member of the audience waves back and forth as he declares, "Thiiiiiiiis isssssss The Mmmmmmm.Oooooooo Hoooouuuurr". Talking about this track reminds me of just how old it is. I was emailed this beat at the tail end of 2006.
CAN YOU HEAR ME OUT THERE?--This is the radio single one, I think. Is this the one that sounds like it goes on Kiss FM? Or is that Sunny Days?
AFFILIATES THIRD WORLD--This track was done on some quick shit. I was trying to teach Seth Boogie how to use FL Studio, so I stepped up, and produced this beat. The song features M.T. Bag member, Ace Boogie. Decent track, I still don't believe how fast it made the album.
BALLIN' CRAZY--One of my favorite tracks. Verses two and three kill it, but dude in the beginning was just kinda there. The beat is crazy, I think I wrote a verse to it. My only con on this one, the hook is too high pitched, it's still nice though.
SO SIMPLE--I love the flow of every emcee on this song. The chorus is one of my favorite choruses on the feature. M.O. did his thing, but he progressively got shat on by his cousin, Lady S, and rap friend, Moxy Monster. *I made a beat sampling Moxy saying, "Classic like Sega. The Alpha and Omega."* No hate, M.O.
SUNNY DAYS--Memory fails me. I don't think I heard this song. If I did, it probably sucked because I don't remember it....Just kidding, but seriously, I assure you it's nice....Is this the one where dude was talking about secretaries and ended his verse like
OPEN TOE SANDALS-- LMAO!!! ROFL!!! Since this song was made in a joking tone, I'ma let it rip. I like verse one and two, but third verse was pure comical relief. "Man, I'm slizzered. I'll take her home, though she look like a lizzard." Especially the way third verse ends, "Ughhhh!" That first verse was classic. "Heard you got that CLAP CLAP CLAP. Burn me, I will CLAP CLAP CLAP. Turn me to a germie on this journey, it's a WRAP WRAP WRAP. Look at how I RAP RAP RAP. She wantin' me to SMACK THAT THAT." M.O. does his thing with one of my favorite quotes, "She got that Itchy and Scratchy, call her Krusty."
BOOGIE MAN--This is an instrumental track. Produced by Seth Boogie. There's a video idea by M.O. that is to include himself, me, and Lady S, but I don't wanna ruin the grand scheme of things. A nice listen, it eases the ears in case Sandals was too much for you.
MS.ASHALEE--The MOST different Seth Boogie beat I've ever heard. It sounds like a Rick Rubin production. The inspiration of this track derives from Lil Wayne's "Lisa Marie". Not being biased, I like this track better. Dig it?
WHY I THINK ABOUT HER?-- Produced by me and featuring me. This was originally an Original Cin track, but it ended up on his album. I never quite approved, but it's cool. The chorus reminds me of Ashton Kutcher for some reason. This is still a decent song. The only con, M.O. took the version that had the M.T. Bag tags on it. He said it was for promotional purposes on our part. I'm down with that.
OUT OF TOWNER--Recorded in Chi-Town. I really like this song. This track proves M.O.'s versatility and chorus writing abilities. Kudos.
YOU--I love the beat, and the first verse's intro is too nice. "Colder than Alaska, your lyrics is ass, bra. I would smash ya, your CD's not even mastered. Hold up, like everybody benchpressin'. If anybody get lost then please ask a question.(I'm lost)" The shit talk is funny on this track and there was a promotional video for this song, except, they never put it anywhere.
MS.ASHALEE REMIX-- I made the beat, and Ace and I hopped on it. I would've been taken off and replaced by Grimm, but my computer crashed. This taught me to bring 110% whenever I make a cameo, becuase it will continue to bite you in the ass if you don't. I rather enjoy this, however. I helped a tad with M.O.'s lyrics. I'm not gonna talk shit like I wrote the verse, because I didn't, I just suggested a phrase and he ran with it. Dig it?
I'MA WINNER-- I'm proud of M.O. for this track, he got a beat AND a verse by Ill Poetic. The beat is kinda odd to me, but they make it work. Poetic comes on too crispy, and the chorus is nice.
*DELETED TRACKS: Purple Green featuring me. 2 Minute Special featuring Seth Boogie, yeah, on the flow. Some weed song. I Done Came Up Now. Extravaganza, I think that was the name of the outro.*
Overall, this is one of the best albums I've heard in quite a while. Better than The Warm Up. If I could rate this one on a scale of 5, I'd give it a 4.5 out of 5. Not quite classic, but a VERY GOOD EFFORT.
