Contemporaries & Us

I've been doing some Internet reading. I do a lot of that. That's my alternative to school. Me, I find a lot of things interesting that no one cares about and vice versa. I could care less about who founded this country, as you for you, you could care less about the religion of Buddhism. We're different like snowflakes. Anyway. Whilst I'm downloading these Beatle's albums(5 out of 13 thus far), I got to thinking about this music game, as usual.

I was thinking about how these emcees describe their music/their goals with it. Some make D-Boy music, others Trap Muzik, others with Inspirational shit, et cetera. I hate when some cats claim their shit is different or it's this and that, when it sounds the same as everybody else. Like David Banner, he said in 2007, he had the best album, not K.West or 50. I heard ONE song off the album, and it was regular David Banner. That doesn't mean his shit sucked. Anyway. A lot of these underground n!99@$ say they have a futuristic sound, or make up concepts that they are from the future. Ya!

What is this, Sons Of Liberty? I thought about M.T. Bag. We have a semi-concept used for Sp00ks & Sp00ns: Superdopeballeristic Ish. Modeled after Outkast's Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik. Then I got to thinking, that's not what we are at all. If I were to describe our sound, it would definitely have to be: Real Hip-Hop. Hip-Hop started out based on what the emcees were feeling. That's when it was real. I'm talking KRS-One, Rakim, Run DMC, NWA, et cetera. They rapped about what was around them and put their personalities into it. Now, all these n!99@$ keep making up personas and shit, and it's fucking the game up. The last real n!99@$ alive are here in Cincinnati.

Now, people wonder why Cincinnati and the Mid-West at that doesn't have that many representatives. I dunno why EXACTLY, but I think it has something to do with the living conditions. The roughest city in the U.S. I hear is Washington D.C. I've never been, but I believe it. After that, the worst cities are usually in the Mid-West. Thus, we all gain this Every Man 4 Himself type mindstate. It's all about our acts and NOBODY else. We don't unite like the West, East, and South. The West came up with the funk and gangsta shit, the East united with the lyricism, and the South came up together with Crunk and Snap. The Mid-West is not a steady movement and it saddens me. Nobody's "puting on" for their cities over here. That's why I'm steady trying to get other Cincy acts on some future LP's. Y'all don't believe me, but I'ma get my Chip Tha Ripper song before my time is through.
