"Y'all Rappin' @$$ N!99@$, Y'all Funny To Me"

First and foremost, Grimm, if you're gonna post, please post. I see a lot of drafts that NEVER published. It throws off the post count.

I've been listening to Hip-Hop pretty heavily this week. Mainly, Jay-Z. I'm remixing American Gangster. I wanna get into The Beatles because the rap thing isn't doing it for me too much anymore. I caught one of their songs for the first time, "Eleanor Rigby". That's a dope track. Anyway. I'm gonna settle a long disputed conflict in the Hip-Hop world. Who's better than who?

In the words of Nasty NaS, "Ain't no best."
When it comes to The Notorious B.I.G and 2Pac, I love both their musics. My opinion leans more towards 2Pac. Stuntman liked Biggie better. We nearly killed each other over this arguement too. It's all a matter of taste. I like 'Pac because of his beats, his versatility, and his delivery. That doesn't mean Smalls wasn't capable of the same, but Smalls' radio hits were usually "Plies-like". "Big Poppa", "Hypnotize", "I'm Fucking You Tonight", et cetera. 2Pac put out different radio jams, "California Love", "Hail Mary", "Brenda's Got A Baby", et cetera. I'm not basing my opinion off of radio jams. I felt 'Pac switched styles EVERY song. Not to say Biggie rapped the same shit over and over again. The only fault I can find with 'Pac, however, is the famous rhymes he said every other song. "Enemies, Hennessey". I think 'Pac's poetry writing abilities helped in his rapping, it was really smooth. Plus I liked how he spelled tomorrow, '2morrow'. I raise 'Pac's hand for the victory. Kill me, Biggie lovers.

The famous Jay-Z and Nas feud sparked an unnecessary music segregation. Who do I favor? Lyrically, Nas has my vote. As for rhythm and good songs, Jay-Z has my vote. This topic is a seesaw because it's still based on taste. Hit songs, Jay-Z has that on lock. When it comes to Nas' radio joints, he just doesn't pack the punch.  Nas is a deep muthafucka on his albums. When it comes to topical songs, Nas kills it. "I Gave You Power", a Nas song about being a gun, nobody could do it better. My favorite Nas song is quite the story, "Undying Love", a bloody love story about being cheated on. When it comes to songs like this, Jay-Z is nice too, he just scratches the surface. Songs like, "I Know" and "Meet The Parents" are still good, but aren't that deep. Jay-Z has a lot of hits, though. "Give It 2 Me", "Izzo", "Roc Boys", et cetera. People look down upon Hova because he exchanged his rapper card for a pop one. I don't have a problem because it's ALL about the music. At least it's not absolute bullshit. Still, it's a matter of taste. Whether you like to look inside the cereal box for the special toy, or be spoon fed with a few open ended double entendres, it's up to you. I raise the arm of Jigga Man on this one. Water would kill me.
