In My Lifetime: Volume None

The year was 2005 when three aspiring musicians recorded approximately 23 songs in one day over beats provided by the great man pictured above.

I was about 12 years old when I met a young Seth Boogie. My uncle, Syl, would get me, then pick up Seth and we would play video games for a spell. Video games are a good way to socialize with folks. Boogie and I formed a bond out of common interests and ideas. My aunt and uncle would visit my house every weekend; Seth would drop by every now and then. Seth would bring this MPC with him every time I saw him. He'd play beats he made on it.

I fell in love with his beat style. Seth's production style is hard to describe. You can catch him flipping an old school sample, or you can hear the unique sound from the keyboard. Back when I first met Seth, he was using RZA's samples and he also had a lot of original cuts.

Soon, I was demanding CD's of beats from Seth. I had about three or four CD's with his beats on them.

One weekend, I believe it was a Christmas break weekend, me, this guy:

And this guy:

...that's Yung Thug and Burnz at the time, we just went in.

I had this closet in my room, ideal for recording, we had the tape recorder, tapes, and an Xbox and surround sound speakers to make the soundtrack possible.

So we do the tape and bask in its bootyness a while. Shortly after its recording, Seth Boogie moved out on his own and I would go to his apartment every other weekend.

It is at Seth Boogie's where I have learned some of life's greatest lessons or written my illest rhymes.

Seth taught me the correct way to shave, he taught me how to EQ my beats, and we had some of the funniest recording sessions...."Nerd Porn".

Things got real in 2006. M.O. was sitting on his "The Warm Up" album, and I was making an effort to make music at Seth's. I had the chance to do some music with Seth's sister, Lady S:
(Lady S @ Baba Budan's beside M.O.)

I wasn't always aware of Lady S. She was featured on the last song of M.O.'s song "The Show". She too was on The E-M-P shitlist for the crack line. I saw too much potential in her though. I did a song with her in 2007...I forgot what it was called, I heard it not too long ago and laughed....When I hear Lady S rap, I hear a female Jay-Z. Her flow is tighter than like 90% of the male rappers out today. I shipped some beats to Lady S, hoping to bring her back to the music effort.

(The Affiliates: M.O., Seth Boogie, Lady S)

Let me rewind a bit, the summer of 2006.........I went out on a decent note at age 16. I was THEE EMCEE that summer. I had laid down "Time Is Wastin' " with M.O earlier that year and I was still hugnry. After M.O. and I recorded "Purple Green", things changed. First of all, Stuntman and Lady S were to appear on the song as well, but fell asleep. With myself, M.O. and Seth still awake....I dunno what to tell you, we went in. I did the first verse and fell asleep, M.O.went next and outlasted Seth Boogie who fell asleep on his desk.

After the song was mixed down, I became a "hot topic". The Affiliates would ask me questions regarding what I was talking about in the verse. Egos clashed. M.O. and I would butt heads, he and Lady S would argue every time we assembled....I got into some trouble and had my room taken away from me....It was a good seven or eight months without me making a scrap of music....When I came back to it, it was much different. I adjusted rather fast.

What was the moral of this post...?
I guess just to reminsice, make me feel happy or something...
