Who am I? I am The Gangster of Love.
If you're The Gangster of Love, why don't you have a significant other? I ain't really found all that yet.
If you're The Gangster of Love and don't have love yourself, how are you able to dispense so much accurate wisdom? ....I observe more than I'm given credit for and I know the difference between wrong and right, durr!
Now, as it seems, everybody's tryna fall in love, or at least find out where to find it. Well, there are a few quid pro quos. You can't love another until you have love for yourself, after all, you're all you got for real. Next, you must come to understand a love for the universe and everything around you. Hate no man, nor woman, they are your brothers and sisters.
Ok, so now we've reached the next step, understanding the difference between infatuation and love. Infatuation is what you have for a person you see on a tv or magazine cover, you know that(I'd love to f**k his or her brains out) type shit. Love by my definition, is not necessarily an emotion persay, it is a mindstate. Thus, the 'falling' part.
Infatuation is 'going together' at school, it also blinds you to the fact the other is human, and it strains friendships and other relationships. You also become very selfish during infatuation, the 24/7 booty call option, ya dig? When all you do is spend your time with the other, that is infatuation. Now, I've seen a relationship survive based upon infatuation, I'm not saying it's a bad thing, I just wouldn't recommend it to you.
Love on the other hand, becomes part of your daily life. You want to serve the other person, you become selfless, maybe this is why I haven't found a love, right now it's all about me and mine. In love, you make an effort to build a steady relationship and you still keep your prior friendships and relationships.
Here's the fun part, the sex. So in just about every romance or action movie there is at least one sex scene. The entertainment industry draws up sex as recreational as a game of basketball. Though I ain't never dabbled in it, sex is trip wire attached to a string of emotions, if you will. Love doesn't necessarily mean sex. If sex is the reason you seek love, you'll be very dissappointed to find out, you're just seeking lust.
Now me, I believe in everything happening for a reason, yet I don't really believe in soul mates, if that paradox makes any sense. I think it's funny how most people who fall in love live in the same city, if there were soul mates, wouldn't we be a little more scattered? I dunno, that's just me.
Wrapping it up, besides making more people, I kinda don't see the point of being bound to another person day in and day out for the rest of your life, but I guess it's because I haven't found mine yet. To all you true believers, I hope you could take something home from what you read and find what you're looking for.
The Gangster of Love will say XOXO's
The E-M-P'll say P.E.A.C.E
