"Do You Think About Me Now And Then?(Yeah)"

Cartoons....the epitome of 1990's child raising. If your parents didn't wanna deal with you tearing up their cassette tapes or crayoning on the wall, they'd sit you in front of the idiot box 'til your heart's content.

I've seen some decent cartoons in my time, and I've also been offended by the Gilgamesh they pass off as cartoons. Here's some throwbacks that can easily be compared to the shit on today.

First up, C-Bear and Jamal vs. The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack.

Back in the '90's you may remember the cool hip bear, voiced by rapper, Tone Loc, and the picinniny looking Jamal character. I don't even remember the premise of the show, it reminds me of comic strip, Calvin and Hobbes.

Today, children have the just as entertaining, Flapjack and his oblong friend Captain Knuckles.

The next one is being compared to not a cartoon, but a sitcom, I'm kinda seeing some similarities. Anyone remember Friends? Well, they got this Cartoon Network original called, 6Teen. Though the premise of the shows have no qualities of similarities, I do see something, you tell me though....

The American Eagle lookin' dude is Ross, the purple head chick is Phoebe, the blonde is Monica, the red head is Rachel, the stoner is Joey, and the black guy is Chandler...It checks out. 6Teen is a decent show, the friends all meet up and discuss life's problems and they do everything together, kinda like Friends.

This match up is the same exact cartoon. Generation after generation, I sit back and watch this suave ass personality get lamer and lamer. Yes, I'm talkin' 'bout BatMayne. Bruce Wayne, the pimp of the Justice League/Child Molester, it's your call.

Along with Spider-Man, I'd go home after school and tune into Batman. He was hot shit back then, the Bat Mobile, The Joker and his chick, the Bat Signal, it was all ish! Way to ruin it with Batman: The Bold and The Beautiful.

I got two movies I just thought of too, these are some dated flicks that when the remakes came out, people thought they were new.

First, The Omen:

1976 vs 2006....I dug the release date for the newer one though, 06/06/06,

Last, but not least, one of my favorite films, The Hitcher.

1986 vs 2007...the highway scene in the '07 one was pimper than the '86, but the end of '86's is much better than '07's. Ya bang, bang diggy?

=.= me gettin' my Siskel and Ebert on....yeah, I said, Siskel, I'm a '90's baby.
