There are some songs that come along in our lives that become part of our everyday lives. These are often associated with the word "Allegory". An allegory, for the English illiterate, is a reference to a story, song, et cetera, that is supposed to be held as common knowledge outside of the written narrative.

My first encounter with Player's "Baby Come Back" was in 2006, when I heard a sample of it used in a beat Supreeme rapped on. I proceeded to find the song, and it became one of my favorite Rock songs of all time. Remember the Transformers movie? The song played when Megan Fox's character walked away from Shia's car.

Swiffer Wet Jet

I guess they stopped running these commercials, but when the mop had the Mariachi band sing "Baby Come Back", it made me realize, Player is making LOOT off of one song.

 

King Of The Hill

I saw an episode of KOTH where Hank was looking for a new church. Lucky invited him to a bar to show Hank how he worships God. They got drunk and what song was playing on the jukebox?

All and all, good music lasts FOREVER! Dig it?
