Scrubs
"I'm no Superman." It's probably here for its in depth storyline, witty comic relief, and how well the profession is stuck to throughout the series. My favorite character, if not Turk, has to be the hospital janitor, and the things he does to entertain himself. If you don't watch this show, you're missing out, it's a compelling show, really.
Martin
"You so crazy!" I used to stay up late at night to catch reruns of this show, or try to fake sick to catch it in the morning. I've never seen a rerun that I was bored of, it's like the show is ALWAYS fresh. Nobody ever knew what Tommy did for a living, Pam couldn't keep a man, we never saw Cole's Big Shirley as a whole, and I never understood what was so big about Gina's head. The funniest parts were when Martin would play dress up and be other characters in the show. How do you play your own mother?
Seinfeld
"And what's the deal with..." *Bass Guitar Riffs* I recently started viewing this gem. I had NEVER sat through an episode in my adult life. My mom used to watch it, but as a kid in front of the TV all you do is look, you don't really absorb it. I saw this episode where the entire episode took place in the parking garage of a mall. For the scenery to not change much in one episode, you'd figure it would suck, but it was the best anything I had ever seen at the time. Since it's a show about nothing, I feel that idea gave the show much wiggle room to push sitcom borders....and they did.......
Friends
"It's like you're always stuck in second gear." Probably the best written show to ever hit television, (T.I. voice) Perid. Too much depth, Chandler with the drag queen father, Rachel playing run away bride, Ross and his international fiance, Monica with the loss of the el-bees, Joey and his poor acting, and Phoebe having her brother's baby, that's Thizzle writing.
The Boondocks
Before becoming one of the best shows ever, it had earned my choice as best comic strip. It was taken out and later replaced by my new favorite strip, Get Fuzzy. I thought it was a good move for them to give McGruder his own show. I did miss a season and a half before I ever got to see this show though. I think it's the illest because it addresses issues people either don't think are important, or are too afraid to. I think what adds more appeal to it is when it ran on Adult Swim, technically, Cartoon Network had the N-word on it, gratuitously.
Chappelle's Show
"Better not bring yo kids!" You know, he know, she know, dey know! Nuff said!
Invader Zim
"Taste me, I'm delicious!" This is one show that can be enjoyed by ALL ages. The show never quite ended, but it was good while it lasted. Zim, an exiled alien, thinks he's on a mission to enslave the human race. His superiors use him as the 'stooge' for their entertainment. Over the coarse of the series, Zim gets a zit that mind controls people, turns into bologna and has several epic confrontations with Earthling, Dib. Definitely an ill show!
South Park
"Wanna get high?" Since day one, Parker and Stone have proven they aren't afraid of media backlash. I think this show is banned in Russia, I'm not sure. I dig how this show is always fresh, they're up to date with everything. I like how the construction paper is crafted to actually match the likeness of celebrities now. What I admire most is how almost every male voice is done by Trey Parker, that's crazy.
Rugrats
The adventures had by the babies is why I like the show so much. I think it was Nickelodeon's best show until they ruined it by trying to make them teenagers. The music to the show makes me laugh and the movies weren't half bad either. I'd nominate it for an Emmy.
6 Teen
Though it is in the #1 spot, that doesn't mean it truly is my #1. It's a damn good show though. I rather enjoy the trouble making they partake in, it reminds me of a youth I never had. The spoofed names of the shops, A&F(Albatross and Fish) as opposed to Abercrombie and Fitch, classic. The writers attempt to add a little depth into the lives of the characters, all and all, it's a really cute show.
Shows That Really Should've Made The Cut:
That 70s Show
The Simpsons
King Of The Hill
Family Guy
House of Payne
Robot Chicken
24(If I ever watch it, I might like it)
House
Saturday Night Live
Saved By The Bell
The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air
If you don't like my list, fine. Make your own, or do something more constructive with your time, like, beat it.
