So....Where You From?

 

We all know, Hip-Hop is a very diverse thang.....It started on the East, like the settlers and moved to the west and all over......

The map is inaccurate according to how Hip-Hop splits up the States.....You got, West Coast, The Dirty South, The East Coast and The Mid-West. Each region has rappers and such that put them on the map:

WEST: NWA, Death Row Records, Kurupt, Daz Dillinger, Spice 1, The D.O.C, CPO and much more....

SOUTH: Rap-A-Lot Records, Ca$h Money Records, UGK, Z Ro, Slim Thug, Outkast and more...

EAST: Biggie Smalls, Big L, Wu-Tang Clan, Jay-Z, Nas, etc....

MID-WEST: The most slept on region of them all because it doesn't have a distinct style......Eminem, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Common, Twista, Ray Cash, Bow Wow, Hi-Tek, Cross, Showtime, Chip Tha Ripper, Corey Bapes, Czar*Nok, Kid Rock, et cetera......

  

The Mid-West is really where I wanna focus.....What is the main difference between the Mid-West and the other regions......the emcees representing the West, South, and East are really proud of where they're from. "WEEEEEST SIIIIDDDE!!!!" or, "I run New York!", or, "I rep that Derrrty South!!".

Not many from the Mid-West are putting on for us! You know it! Eminem barely shouts out to Motor City, Kid Rock, from the same place, always talks about the trailer.....hmmm......Czar*Nok, when they came out, they were on BET, and were announced as the first cats from Cincinnati with a video.......where did they go? Bow Wow, straight out of Columbus....what does he rep? ATL!!! Hi-Tek, I enjoy his music, kinda, and I like what he did for Ohio All-Stars(Cross, Showtime, Mann and Chip Tha Ripper), but it seems, he exclusively fucks with New York emcees........

So why do half these cats not rep where they're from?

    

It beats me....Sure, there are a lot of cats out this region I wouldn't wanna be associated with, but damn, is the Mid-West really that bad.....For instance, Ludacris....He was born in Illinois, and even did a little high school up here, but since he blew up in the Dirty, the Mid-West gets no love? In the words of Tweez, "Hurts".

......Alright, I admit.....I too had a small dislike for my region....so much so, me and other aspiring artists would go around the lunch table saying where we would rep if we ever made it big.....A lot of people went with NYC.....How can I rep a place I ain't never been? Now you know why our debut is named, Made In Cincinnati.....we "Put On" for our city now, haha.....If nobody else is gonna put us on the map, I guess we gotta step up and do it, huh?

 

Cincinnati, we all we got. Graeter's, Cheese Coney's, Larosa's, the dirty part of the Ohio River, everything...

Hmmm.....yessir!!
