This post is a list of my top 10 favorite music videos of all time. They don't make the list just for the song, but for visual creativity as well.
Kanye West "All Falls Down"- Possibly the illest video of all time. It's shot entirely in first person, except the airport x-ray scene, where 'Ye makes fun of his metal jaw. The video features Stacey Dash, and the best part of this video is the end, where tears form at the bottom of the screen when Dash's plane takes off. So well put together.
The Gorillaz "Clint Eastwood"- When I first got hip to MTV2, I swear this was the only video on the air at the time. No mind, I dug the song, as well as the animated band concept, it was fresh. Some cameo verses from Del The Funky Homosapien didn't hurt and the animations are a nice touch to make this a favorite.
Couldn't find the video,Universal Music Group is full of greedy bastards.
Common"GO!"- One of the hottest singles Common has ever put out, the "Be" album marked a turning point in Common's music career....I try to ignore Electric Circus as much as I can...Anyhow, I like this video because of the fantasy overload at the end of the video. Ha ha, I'm gonna dedicate this video to Mr.Shaun Fauste in his LoveStoned Phase.
Jay-Z"I Know"- When this video came out, it was head to head with Kanye's "Flashing Lights" in my book. Both very good videos, but this one takes the cake. What happens when you take the artist out of a video and do something else, you get a good ass video everytime.
Scarface"My Block"- This is probably the best video on this list, why? The whole video is presented to make you think it's all in one continuous shot. It takes some skills to do some shit like that, kudos. Plus, the song is pretty real, I dig it.
Atmosphere"Shoulda Known"- This video is just fucking nice, and the song, just watch.
Lil' Scrappy"No Problem"-The video is a synopsis of Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke's movie "Training Day". When it came out, I couldn't help but laugh my ass off.
Lil' Wayne"Hustler Muzik/Money On My Mind"- This is the only Wayne video that looks like it means something. I like this song because Wayne was trying to throw in some misleading metaphors and whatnot, I agree when he says this is the best song he's ever recorded.
Pete Rock & CL Smooth"They Reminisce Over You"- The video really isn't that great, but when I hear the song, I just have to see it.
Eminem"Stan"-.......'Nuff Said
